Lectures for students

The lecture presented the nearly one-hundred-year history of Poznań University of Economics and Business, highlighting the key stages of its institutional, academic and organisational development. Particular attention was paid to major milestones, including the granting of university status in 2008, the visits of prominent international figures, and the appointment of the University’s first female Rector in 2024.

“PUEB in a Sustainable Environment: History, People and Infrastructure”

Without confidence in the necessity and the gains of sustainability actions citizens will not engage with behavioural change – politically or personally. Sustainability clashes with our destructively consumerist global culture, that manipulates and constrains individual agency.

Odbył się wykład poświęcony działalności Zakładu Zagospodarowania Odpadów w Poznaniu. Uczestnicy poznali zasady funkcjonowania składowiska odpadów, biokompostowni oraz stacjonarnych i mobilnych punktów selektywnej zbiórki odpadów. Omówiono również zadania spółki związane z utrzymaniem czystości w mieście.
Druga część spotkania dotyczyła edukacji ekologicznej, w tym wizytacji obiektów, ścieżek edukacyjnych, warsztatów i akcji informacyjnych.

Prof. Marek Kowalkiewicz z Queensland University of Technology, w przystępny i rzeczowy sposób pokazał, jak algorytmy i sztuczna inteligencja już dziś wpływają na gospodarkę oraz nasze codzienne życie. Bez nadmiernych uproszczeń i technicznego żargonu wskazał, które rozwiązania rzeczywiście działają, a które pozostają jedynie elementem marketingowych narracji o „rewolucji AI”.

“Protecting People and Planet. How Fair Trade Enterprises Contribute to Sustainable Market Transformation”. It was the first event organized by the Student Scientific Circle of Sustainable Business TRADE FAIR within the framework of Open Lectures.
